In response to comments made in the Parents’ Questionnaire, We’d like to inform you that the school website will be off line for a few days during the School Holidays as some maintenance work is completed.
The popularity of the Website has grown significantly over the past year with over 500,000 visits this calendar year. We need to take it off line to complete some behind the scenes improvements.
While the website is down I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight some other communication channels which have been created over recent years that some may not be aware of:
Follow us on Twitter to receive breaking news and updates. Posts have a reach of 3500 on average.
Search for ‘Ysgol Gwynllyw’ on Facebook and like our Page for updates and to send direct messages. On average over 3800 people are seeing every post on Facebook
By subscribing to the RSS feed you can arrange for all School announcements to be sent directly to your RSS client (usually your email software) Further information regarding how to subscribe to RSS in general is available here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10628494
Google Calendar: Subscribe to the School Public Calendar from our home page using the Google Calendar link. Alternatively this ical link allows you to subscribe on, among others, Apple devices.
In addition to the above, all students have now received a School Email address and free access to ‘Google Apps for Education’ which includes a number of useful applications including Drive, and the Virtual Learning Environment ‘Google Classroom’
This year also saw us being the first school in Wales to use the new .Wales and .Cymru domain address’ and we will continue to evolve the website over the upcoming year as technology and resource permits.
If you have any comments or ideas for improvements please contact us using one of the above methods
